Hi, I’m Kaz, your friendly personal trainer here at The Performance Zone.
Before we kick off in the new year, I thought it would be a good idea to tell you a bit about myself and my journey into fitness.
As a child growing up in Horsham, I was a very keen gymnast, competing at an elite level for the south of England. I also trained as a synchronised swimmer and both of these sports were my passions at the time and I worked hard to be the best I could.
During my teens I moved to Canada for a few years and experienced the friendly culture while attending high school, which really brought me out of my shell after being a very shy quiet person previously. This helped mould me into the person I am today.
After getting married and having children I felt I needed to get back to fitness and shape up. It was at this time I saw an advert on the TV for Zumba and thought, that was for me. I found the very first Zumba class held in Horsham and fell in love with the latin vibes and the cool tunes, loving the dancing. I never looked back form there. A few years later I qualified as a Zumba instructor and ran regular classes in Horsham, Southwater and the surrounding areas. This sparked a passion in me to help and inspire people to feel good about themselves through exercise and fitness.
I wanted to develop my career in the fitness industry so 3 years ago I started on my journey to become a Personal trainer, first qualifying as a level 2 gym instructor and then on to my Level 3 Personal Training diploma. From there I started working in a gym and also taking on a number of private clients.
This was very fulfilling as it gave me an opportunity to really make a change to peoples lives and wellbeing.
I recently received this testimonial from a client I have been training remotely throughout the recent pandemic.
I’ve been zoom training with Kaz since April and I can honestly say she’s the best PT I’ve had. When we started I was very unfit and struggling with knee, hip and shoulder injuries. With her help I’ve been able to strengthen the surrounding muscles and I’m now pain free for the first time in years. Kaz is a great motivator and often does the exercises with me. Even with the limited equipment I have at home she’s been great at keeping things fresh and finding new moves to challenge and push me. I’m so pleased with the results – I’m fitter, toned and feeling great.
Feedback like this really inspires me to challenge myself and since then I have qualified as a TRX suspension training instructor and I am now working towards my GP Exercise Referral qualification to give me even more experience and expertise to pass on to my clients.
It is my goal in life to pass on the passion and motivate people to experience both the mental wellbeing and physical fitness exercise can give people. I look forward to working with everyone when things go live in the new year!
