My name is Abby and I am a Sports Massage Therapist & Injury Rehabilitator at The Performance Zone.
I am extremely passionate about sport, taking part in as many outdoor activities as I could from a young age. Since I was 12 years old, I have completed for my local athletics club and have represented Sussex athletics on numerous occasions, including the English Schools Track and Field Championships, which I participated in three consecutive years. Being surrounded by athlete’s and the varying degrees of injuries that sport entails has driven my interest towards helping others overcome setbacks due to sporting injuries and return to activity through the use of combined sports massage and advance injury rehabilitation.
Alongside my Sport Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University, I achieved Level 5 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy, the highest sports massage qualification attainable in the UK. Furthermore, I was able to manage my studies, social life and love for training, all the while working part-time over the 3 years of my studies. This developed my organisation and confidence skills in preparation for a fast-paced problem-solving environment. I have gained experience treating both in clinics and on-pitch for the general public and athletes ranging from amateur to elite, alongside clinical placement with the Cardiff Metropolitan University athletics club.
At present, I will be working Thursdays and every other Saturdays at the Performance Zone, in company with my part-time job as a Clinical Assistant in the MRI department at the Princess Royal Hospital.
I am thoroughly looking forward to meeting you all in April.
