Hi, I’m Fran a Sports Therapist at The Performance Zone!
A little bit about me and my journey that brought me to The Performance Zone.
I have always been a very keen sports person participating in as many sports as I could get my hands on when I was younger. I enjoy many water-sports and you’ll often find me paddleboarding on the river or surfing down in Devon, however my main passion has always been with football. I competed at Centre of Excellence level with Fulham FC until I was 14 and then moved on to play for QPR until I went to university aged 18. I think that always being involved with sport, drove my passion to have a career within the sporting world.
My degree in Sports Therapy at the University of Chichester developed me as an individual as well as increased my passion for helping others with diagnosis and treatment of injuries. Whilst at University, I played for the University Women’s football team, as well as being their sports therapist in my third year and throughout my masters which allowed me to refine my practical skills in a real-life setting.
I completed my masters in Strength and Conditioning in 2019-20 finishing in the first national lockdown! The masters increased my knowledge of the workings of the human body and assists my work as a sports therapist.
Throughout my masters, alongside volunteering as the women’s football sports therapist and strength and conditioning coach, I also worked as the Head Sports Therapist for Chichester Rugby Club using my skills as a therapist to help manage injuries and keep the players fit and injury free. This job hugely increased my confidence as a therapist and developed me into the therapist I am today.
Since completing my masters I have also been working for Portsmouth FC within their academy set up to ensure that the elite younger players are injury free and able to develop into the best young footballers they can be.
All of these experiences enables me to provide the best services to clients at The Performance Zone and I’m excited to meet you all!
