What is Small Group Training?
Small group training consists of training in a capped group of up to 8 people in our fitness studio (subject to Covid Guidelines). The studio is closed off to everyone else during these sessions, so you get a fun friendly and private session at much less of a cost than 1-on-1 personal training.
With a range of different sessions and times to choose from, there is something to suit everyone. Even though these sessions are done in small groups, everything can be tailored to you, meaning you can have a good session regardless of if you’re new to training or a pro!
All our small group sessions follow a 12 week programme which is written out in advance of the sessions being delivered. This means the sessions have a purpose and direction and thus better results. These programmes are also accessible from The Performance Zone App and can be followed by members in their own sessions if they cant make a group session. The programmes also includes benchmarks which are used to test your progress over the plan so you know how you are progressing.
Strength – this session involves a range of strength based exercises such as deadlifts, squats, bench press, rows and alike. The goal for this session is to keep the heart rate low, and work on improving your strength through a range of exercises/movements.
Sweat – this sessions utilises a range of exercises designed to keep your heart rate high, improve fitness levels and ultimately get you working hard. Exercises such as burpees and squat jumps, as well as machines such as ski ergs and rowers will make regular appearances.
Hybrid – this session combines elements of both the S and C and HIIT sessions to create an all round session thats great for working the muscles as well as cardiovascular fitness.
Foundation – This session is a lower impact session that focuses on a range of exercises to help you improve core strength, movement and ultimately build your “foundation”. A great session for beginners wanting to improve technique, but also a great session for more advance members wanting a less intense session.
Stretch – this session incorporates a range of stretching and mobility based exercises to improve core strength, flexibility and mobility. Consisting of mostly body weight exercises and stretches, but also utilising mobility tools such as foam rollers and bands to help aid results.
